The contents of the Rrose Sélavy page were merged into Marcel Duchamp on 2 February 2017. For the contribution history and old versions of the redirected page, please see its history; for the discussion at that location, see its talk page.
Not sure going along and start editing the article; Marcel Duchamp is, of course, in a wide range of 20th century and 21ts art topics, starting with Cubism, following with dadaist, abstract expressionism and even pop art, his "readymade" and 'bribe' machines within his 'nude steping down a ladder' are so well recognizable pieces, but I think it is so happy to state to integrate him as 'commonly regarded' as to one 'of the three artists' within Picasso and Matisse, Picasso is no doubt, of course, his reach of influence and furthermore as the creator of Cubism, it isn't either Matisse as the creator of Fauvism, but just mentioning three artist within Marcel Duchamp as the most crucial ones for the comteporany profileration on influences on art; again, I think it would be rather too happy, at least, I would have to speak about Gauguin, in whose the very technique of Matisse is greatly inspired, Gauguin proposed the manifests on color that would be later adopted by, practically, everyone, it is true that Gauguin doesn't enter into the 20th century period but still his nearness should be assumed, yet it would be too fast-going missing Cezanne, whose influence reach the very Picasso, and with it, a very large spectrum of artists and art movements. Saying Marcel Duchamp within Picasso and Matisse as a 3-fragment unit, only, is still ignoring the facts of a Mondrian, Kandisky, Max Ernst, Rousseu, or Picabia, Malevich, etc. all within the 20th and 21st century periods.
